A silver topped gold and diamond tiara, convertible to a necklace, with detachable brooch, 19th Century.  The tiara designed as five (5) graduated  curls set with old mine cut diamonds on either side of the central element, above a row of old mine cut diamond set navettes centering a cluster of old mine cut diamonds, the central element consisting of curling sprays of numerous old mine cut diamonds, the principal five (5) diamonds weighing approximately 1.43 carats, 0.93 carat, 0.48 carat, 0.36 carat and 0.36 carat, the whole set with a total of approximately two hundred ninety nine (299) old mine cut diamonds.  The central element detaches to be worn as a brooch with brooch fitting, the whole removable from the tiara frame and convertible to a necklace.  Total diamond weight approximately 23.58 carats.  Length of necklace approximately 15 1/4 inches.  Gross weight including all elements approximately 80.00 grams.  In the original fitted box from Carrington & Company.
